Webinar Partner Webinar: Making It Work: The Role of Employment in Housing Stability

Date: Jul 30 - 31 2026 (EST)

Recording of Webinar

Description

Many Veterans with Serious Mental Illness (SMI) or Substance Use Disorder (SUD) want to work, but employment is often left out of the conversation about housing stability. This webinar makes the case for putting work at the center. Speakers will discuss the wide-ranging benefits of employment and share effective, practical strategies drawn from their work with Veterans, so providers in housing, behavioral health, and employment services can better support the Veterans they serve.

Learning Objectives:

After this webinar, participants will be able to:

  • Explain how employment supports housing stability and recovery for Veterans with SMI or SUD.
  • Identify effective employment practices for the Veteran population.
  • Describe how to connect Veterans to employment services that fit their goals.
